March 2012
Dear Skalleagues,
These are challenging times for membership organisations around the world - and Skal International Bangkok is no exception. My initial objective therefore, as President of Skal International Bangkok, is to encourage all existing members to renew both their membership and their commitment to our cause and also to encourage more tourism and travel industry professionals to consider seriously the benefits of joining Skal.
We need new blood with fresh ideas and an appetite to mix with fellow industry professionals at a broad range of business networking events held in various city centre locations. Your new Executive Committee, elected at the AGM on 14th February, is committed to delivering informative, entertaining and educational events that provide real value for members.
Our plans for 2012 include panel discussions with leading hoteliers and airline general managers, and key-note addresses by senior tourism industry executives. Some events will be staged jointly with the Thailand Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association and we look forward to strengthening our working relationship with the Chapter and its members.
Skal, founded in 1934, has developed into the world's most effective tourism industry networking organisation. Our annual membership fees offer remarkable value. Membership of Skal International Bangkok provides access to people and events that are relevant to business development in Bangkok, in Thailand and across the ASEAN region.
I look forward to welcoming you to a Skal event in the near future.
Skal!
Dale Lawrence
